Faq's and Etiquette

Got Questions?

Q: What is Cashiers Burger Week?

A: Cashiers Burger Week is a celebration of the Almighty Burger.

Q: What is the Cashiers Burger Week: Extended Cut?

A: Over the past few years, one of the most common things we’ve heard is: “We need more time to eat more burgers!” So this year, we’re trying something new. Introducing the Cashiers Burger Week: Extended Cut — April 24 to May 9 - two full weeks of burger creativity, community fun, and friendly competition — without requiring our restaurants to commit to a full two-week run.

Q: How do Cashiers Burger Week work?

A: Your favorite Cashiers area restaurants are getting creative and showcasing limited time burgers. Participants will get their Passport stamped at each location that they try. Passports will be turned in with a Vote for Best and Most Creative Burger and participants will be entered to win PRIZES!

Q: How much are the Cashiers Burger Week Burgers?

A: ONLY TEN DOLLARS! Must have Passport. However, all burgers ARE offered a la carte, so sides are extra.

Q: Can I get my Burger To Go?

A: The purpose of Cashiers Burger Week is to get our community out to explore and support our local restaurants. It will be up to the restaurant’s discretion to offer Cashiers Burger Week burgers To Go and there may be a Take out surcharge to cover the reduced priced burger and take out packaging.

Q: What’s the “Passport” ?

A: The passport is your guide to Cashiers Burger Week Participating Restaurant locations. They will be available for pick up at The Cashiers Area Chamber of Commerce Visitors Center located at 202 US-64, Cashiers, NC 28717 starting mid April . Passport’s required to participate.  Each participating restaurant will have an OFFICIAL Cashiers Burger Week stamp, so make sure you get your passport stamped every time you order a Burger Week Burger. At the end of Burger Week, send in your stamped passport with your vote for best and most creative burger and to be entered to win some super cool prizes from the Participating Restaurants and other Local Sponsors. Must visit a minimum of 3 Restaurants to qualify to be entered to win prizes and for your vote to count. If you visit 5 or more, get a bonus entry. Sorry, only 1 prize per person.

Q:What do I do with my Passport at the end of the week?

A: First make sure you enter your vote for Best and Most Creative Burger. Second, fill out your contact info for Prizes. Then turn it in by either....

Burger Week Etiquette

1. They may Run Out

There may be instances of long waits and restaurants running out. Don’t be a Richard. Thank them for working hard, have a beer and enjoy the beautiful mountain spring, wait your turn or make a plan to come back earlier the next day.

2. You Will Tip

A $10 fresh made burger is a rarity these days. You’re most likely getting a $15-$20 burger at a heck of a deal so please tip at least 20%. The people serving you work very hard and most likely travel a good ways to support the Cashiers community. A little extra gratuity goes a long way in making sure there are great dining options available to you year round.

3. You really should buy a Drink and/or Other Food

All Cashiers Burger Week Burgers are a la carte. Sides and beverages are extra. While it is not required that you purchase anything additional, show a little love to a restaurant for going above and beyond to bring you an awesome community event and $10 BURGER! Buy some fries, a beer and treat yourself. You’re worth it!

4. Have Fun and Share your Burger Journey

Let's make this a fun community event. Plan your week in advance, share your itinerary and experiences with your friends and social media and don’t forget to tag the restaurants and #CashiersBurgerWeek! Vote for your favorites and join us May 14th for the Cashiers Burger Week Awards at Happs Place
